Why You May Not Be Getting Results With Natural Insomnia Remedies

People sometimes wonder why natural insomnia remedies don’t work. They would like to stop taking sleeping pills. But the natural herbal cures don’t work and won’t put them to sleep

The fact is that if you are relying on a product to put you to sleep, this will never happen, because only you can allow yourself to sleep. You may have noticed how taking a chemical sleeping pill can cause you to sleep just minutes later? But the truth is that you fell asleep because you were relaxed enough to do so.

A good night’s sleep is all that the majority of people are seeking. Everyone knows that not getting enough sleep can damage your health and cause other problems. With millions of sleeping pills being downed every week, it’s no surprise that the drug manufacturers make so much profit! However the cost of these pills are not really our main concern, it’s what they are doing to our natural sleep system that is the problem.

Everyone needs help sleeping sometimes, like during extreme stress or recovery from illness. This is not necessarily harmful if it is only for a few days. The problem occurs when this use becomes a continuous every night occurrence.

After a period of time taking sleeping pills regularly, you may observe that you have had to take a larger dose in order to gain the desired effect. There are two primary reasons for failure of these natural remedies. First the body needs to go through a withdrawal from the chemical insomnia drugs. The condition is referred to as rebound insomnia which is your natural sleep rhythm is doing it’s best to get back to normal. You have to expect some sleep disruption during this time and it may take a few days up to a couple of weeks before your normal sleep cycle resumes.

Another factor is that alternative medicines for insomnia are not instant. Most of them do not penetrate the blood-brain barrier to “medicate” you. It can take natural remedies time to build up in your system before they will work for you. This is because they re-educate your sleep system and help you to fall asleep naturally. So don’t take a natural insomnia remedy and expect to be asleep in 5 minutes, it simply will not happen.

You can be confident, however, that these remedies will be effective, more effective, in fact, than a sleeping pill, without the side effect of daytime sleepiness or the resistance build up that sleeping pills cause.
