Fitness is a crucial element of a healthy body. In addition fitness can be achieved in many different ways most of which has to do with some type of physical activity such as working out in a gym or running. To be successful in your pursuit, you must be self-discipline, committed, hardworking and be passionate about your fitness goals. Most people pursue fitness as a way to lose weight. This article gives you two simple tips that will help you achieve fitness faster and lose weight in the process.
Be active:
Do you suppose it’s by accident that you feel like eating popcorn or going through bags of chips while watching TV? It’s effortless to reach for food when you are at a loss for things to do. Take a break from TV shows and magazines and get busy doing things that you are passionate about that involve some physical activity. This might take the form of enrolling in a yoga class, walking with friends, going trekking, hiking, community volunteer work, or even local running training group.
While getting fit and losing weight might be your major focus, you need to have a life outside of it. This helps you to not only stay mentally and emotionally balanced and fresh but also gets rid of bad habits without trying hard. If you are spending less time in front of the TV you’ll also be snacking less. You’ll not only feel great about doing something productive and new, but you’ll also be cutting down on your bad food consumption by default. Now, isn’t that exciting?
Think of Exercise as Fun not sweat
Most people hate exercising because of their misleading perception. When you think of exercise as hard work you will lose inspiration to even get started.
Instead of ‘exercising’ think about physical activities that allow you to have more fun and include that in your everyday routine. It is more fun playing Frisbee with friends or family members than trying to run five miles alone. Better yet you can extend this kind of innovation to other things you enjoy doing such as window shopping, dancing, taking stairs instead of elevator, or even parking your car in the furthest spot when you go to the mall. You can also look into other more challenging fun activities such mass running or marathon running.
What’s the point of all this? When you include more movement you speed up your metabolism, build muscle and burn excess calories. The more muscle you build, the more your body’s metabolism rises naturally and you’ll be burning more calories even if you are just doing nothing. So just get in as much physical activity as you can as often as you can and make it fun for yourself!
Better yet challenge yourself to run a marathon, you will get fit and lose all the weight you ever wanted. Find a good marathon training plan to help you get there faster.
